Its 30 chapters written by over 400 conservative scholars and policy experts detail unprecedented changes for every Executive Branch department and would further, in some cases, undo hard-won rights and freedoms of hundreds of millions of Americans, including, for example, but certainly not limited to:
The ultimate erasure of gender and LGBTQ+ identity from all federal rules and regulations: “This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists."
Project 2025 would begin attempts to roll back recent LGTBQ+ gains in civil rights, including gay marriage and protection from discrimination, and gender reform of the military. It would criminalize transgender identity as predatory to children and on par with pornography.
Stop The Coup 2025 aims to counter Project 2025’s short- and long-term goals by mobilizing multi-sector groups to spread the word on its dire impacts on LGBTQ+ rights and those of women, black and brown people, federal employees and many millions more.
Protective counter-measures include efforts by elected officials, as well as groups of lawyers, policy analysts, young people, reproductive rights groups, faith communities, activist networks, political organizations and more. Many collaborate regularly as they outreach to their personal, state, local and national networks to inform them of Project 2025, its seismic impacts to society and HOW IMPORTANT it is to VOTE in November with as much information in hand as possible.
